How do I embed fonts for commercial printing?

Embedding Fonts For Digital, Offset, or Thermography (Raised) Printing

Word 2003 PDF document:

  • Click Tools then Options
  • Click Save tab
  • Checkmark Embed TrueType fonts
  • Click OK

Word 2007 PDF document:

  • Click the Office button in the upper left (or tap the F12 key on the keyboard)
  • In the Save As window bottom right, choose the down arrow on the Tools option
  • Choose Save Options
  • Check Embed fonts
  • Click Ok
  • Click Save

Word 2010 PDF document:

  • Click File, Options
  • Click the Save tab
  • Check Embedded fonts in the file
  • Click OK
  • Type name of document, Click Save

Pack your publication by using the Pack and Go Wizard:

  • Create a New Folder (File, New, Folder and rename or right click New, Folder and rename it) .
  • On the File menu, point to Pack and Go, and then click Take to a Commercial Printing Service.
  • In the Take to a Commercial Printing Service task pane, in the How will this publication be printed?  list, select Commercial Press. (NOT the High Quality Printing setting).
  • Click Printing Options and and click all checkboxes and then click OK.
  • Under Select an item to fix, repair any problems that Publisher has identified.
  • Click Save. 3 files will be created: fonts, images, and a compressed file that includes your Publisher file.
  • In the Pack and Go Wizard, choose the folder you created above to which you want to export the file, and then click Next.
  • Be sure to email all three files in your new folder.
    If you pack multiple publications, save each packed publication to a separate folder. Otherwise, the Pack and Go Wizard will overwrite any pre-existing packed publications. If you make changes to your publication after you pack your files, run the Pack and Go Wizard again so that the changes are included in the publication.
